Privacy Policy
What we collect when you visit our website or check in at an event, why we collect it, and who we share it with.
Last updated 2026-11-06
Buffalo Open Coffee Club (BOCC) is a program of BootSector, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. This policy covers 716coffee.club and our event check-in forms. We do not sell your personal information.
What we collect
When you check in at an event, we collect your name and email address, plus your phone number and business name if you choose to give them. We also record which event you attended, when you checked in, and whether you asked for email updates about future events.
When you browse our website, Google Analytics collects information such as the pages you view, how you reached our site, your general location, and your device and browser. It uses cookies to do this. Google Analytics does not run on our check-in forms.
When you contact us or ask about sponsorship, you fill out a Google Form, and we receive what you enter.
When you register for an event, you do so through Eventbrite, including through the checkout embedded on our home page. Eventbrite handles that information under its own privacy policy, and we receive your registration details.
How we use it
- To run our events, count attendance, and track check-in streaks
- To invite you to 716.social, our online community
- To send you updates about future events, if you asked for them
- To understand how people find and use our website
- To respond to your questions and sponsorship inquiries
- To enforce our Code of Conduct
After you check in, we use your name and email address to invite you to 716.social, and you’ll be redirected there from the check-in page. Your use of 716.social is covered by that community’s own terms.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that help us run BOCC:
- Netlify hosts our website and processes check-ins
- Neon stores check-in records
- Airtable stores older check-in records and community administration records
- Circle runs 716.social
- Eventbrite handles event registration
- Google provides Analytics and Forms
We may also share information if the law requires it or to protect the safety of our community.
Cookies and browser storage
Google Analytics sets cookies on our website. You can learn how Google uses this information or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. The Eventbrite checkout on our home page may set its own cookies.
So you don’t have to retype your details, our check-in form saves them in your own browser for 30 days. That copy stays on your device.
How long we keep it
We keep check-in records for as long as we need them to run BOCC and understand attendance over time. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your choices
To see, correct, or delete your information, or to stop receiving emails from us, write to bocc@zackglick.com.
Children
BOCC is intended for adults and college students. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We’ll post any changes on this page and update the date at the top.
